The Czorsztyn Commune is situated in the southern part of the Małopolska province, in the district of Nowy Targ. The area of the Czorsztyn Municipal includes a large part of the Pieniny, and the southern slopes of the Gorce. The municipality consists of seven villages: Maniowy (seat of the municipal office), Czorsztyn, Huba, Kluszkowce, Mizerna, Sromowce Niżne Sand Sromowce Wyżne. The convenient location of the community makes it a good starting point in the Tatras and to Slovakia. Natural beauty, rich highlander folklore, delicious regional cuisine and friendly hosts make Czorsztyn a real tourist pearl willingly visited by many people.
Monuments
- The ruins of the castle in Czorsztyn
The oldest part of the castle comes from the thirteenth century, and in later centuries it was developed. The castle started to go to rack and ruin after a fire in the eighteenth century. Today the most important part of the picturesque ruins is a massive quadrilateral tower and adjoining walls of the old living quarters. The tourists can visit the ground floor of the Baranowski Tower, middle and upper castle, and partially reconstructed cellars. From the observation deck there stretches a beautiful view of Lake Czorsztyńskie, water dam, the Tatras and nature reserve “Zielone Skałki” (Green Rocks). - The sixteenth-century wooden church in Sromowce Niżne with the fourteenth-century statue of the Virgin Mary with Child.

Selected folk, spa and villa buildings, which originally were in areas designated for future Lake Czorsztyńskie. The villages is consisted of the villas of Leopold Szperling, Theophilus Sanok, Joseph Galota, the Drohojowski’s mansion and the historic cellars. - Regional Chamber in Sromowce Wyżne

Natural attractions
- The Pieniny National Park
Small area with a rich and diverse nature. Many unique species of flora and fauna (numerous endemic species, such as Taraxacum pieninicum, Mountain Apollo). About ¼ of the area is strict reserve. At the entrances to the Park in Czorsztyn, Sromowce Wyżne-Kąty, Sromowce Niżne and Szczawnica – there are pavilions with exhibits depicting the nature and history of the park. - The Dunajec River Gorge
The miracle of nature, famous throughout Europe. Rafting on the Dunajec River organized for tourists from the first half of the nineteenth century is the most interesting way to explore the Pieniny National Park. The rafters tell the legends and tales of the Pieniny. Rafting lasts from 2 to 3 hours. - Mt Wdżar
The mysterious volcanic mountain of magnetic anomalies. A magnificent vantage point. Numerous attractions: mini-zoo, alpine slide, a place for paragliders and rock climbers. - Lake Czorsztyńskie
Around the lake there are numerous places to relax, fishing. We will also find water sports equipment rentals, gondola and boat cruises. - Nature reserve “Modrzewie” (Larches) in Kluszkowce
- The footbridge in Sromowce Niżne – the longest footbridge in Europe
120-meter long wooden footbridge connects the edges of the Dunajec River on the Polish and Slovakian side – thanks to it we have to our disposal attractive tourist loop connecting the road from Szczwnica to Czerwony Klasztor (the Red Monastery) with the hiking trails to Mts Three Crowns and Sokolica. - The playing organ – a monument of Władysław Hasior on the Snozka Pass

Tourist routes
The most famous routes within the area of the Gorce and Pieniny are: to Mts Lubań, Three Crowns and Sokolica. From the peaks there stretches the unforgettable views of the Tatras, Beskid Sądecki, Gorce, Beskid Żywiecki and Magura Spiska. On the clear days we can see Babia Góra.
From the observation deck on Mt Three Crowns there is a picturesque view of the Dunajec Gorge and the area of the Pieniny National Park.

- The red route: Krościenko – Mt Dzwonkówka, 5.5 km. Sum of the height differences – 564 m, crossing time: 2 hours. Back: 30 minutes.
- The red route: Bukowina – Pawlikowski Wierch – Łapsze – Niedzica, 27 km. Sum of the height differences – 1290 m, crossing time: 6 hours. Bak: 6 hours.
- The red route: Niedzica – Sromowce Wyżne – Mt Macelak, 8 km. Sum of the height differences – 490 m, crossing time: 2 hours 15 minutes. Back: 2 hours.
- The blue route: Ochotnica Dolna – the Muszyna Glade – Mt Lubań, 6 km. Sum of the height differences – 735 m, crossing time: 2 hours 15 minutes, Back: 1 hour 45 minutes.
- The blue route: Mt Lubań – the Snozka Pass, 6 km. Sum of the height differences – 710 m, crossing time: 1 hour 45 minutes. Back: 2 hours 15 munites.
- The blue route: the Snozka Pass – Mt Macelak – Mt Three Crowns, 9.5 km. Sum of the height differences – 510 m, crossing time: 3 hours 15 minutes. Back: 3 hours.
- The blue route: Mt Three Crowns – Mt Sokolica – Szczawnica, 6 km. Sum of the height differences – 980 m, crossing time: 3 hours. Back: 3 hours 30 minutes.
- The green route: Ochotnica Dolna – the Morgi Glade – Mt Lubań, 7 km. Sum of the height differences – 750 m, crossing time: 2 hours 30 minutes. Back: 2 hours.
- The green route: Mt Lubań – Grywałd, 5.5 km. Sum of the height differences – 645 m, crossing time: 2 hours 15 minutes. Back: 2 hours 45 minutes.
- The green route: Mt Lubań – Mt Makowica – Tylmanowa Rzeka, 6 km. Sum of the height differences – 825 m, crossing time: 2 hours. Back: 3 hours.
- The green route: Tylmanowa Rzeka – Mt Jaworzynka, 5.5. Sum of the height differences – 541 m, crossing time: 1 hour 45 minutes. Back: 1 hour 15 minutes.
- The green route: Krościenko – Mt Czertezik, 3 km. Sum of the height differences – 352 m, crossing time: 1 hour 15 minutes. Back: 1 hour.
- The green route: Sromowce Niżne – the Pass below Ostry Wierch, 3 km. Sum of the height differences – 370 m, crossing time: 1 hour. Back: 45 minutes.
- The yellow route: Sromowce Niżne – the Szopka Pass – Krościenko, 5 km. Sum of the height differences – 670 m, crossing time: 2 hours 5 minutes. Back: 2 hours 15 minutes.
Villages
Maniowy – history of the village dates back to the Middle Ages. It is one of the oldest villages in the Podhale region. Full of many events that changed its face. Originally Maniowy was limited by two streams: Micholów and Hubny. The village was divided into four estates: Borcok, Lyta, Micholów and Węgliszczak.
Accommodation and catering
In all villages of the Czorsztyn commune there are well-organized, high-standard accommodations and catering.
Agritourist farms offer a special program which includes bread baking, roasting lamb, feasting together by the sounds of folk music band, horse riding, fishing.
